Christopher & Banks Teacher Scholarship Program
This scholarship program benefits not only undergraduate students currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in education, but also lends support to teachers seeking continuing education.

Colonial Williamsburg Teacher Institute
Oklahoma's Colonial Williamsburg Teacher Institute program is designed for fifth-grade social studies/history teachers and resource teachers, such as librarians, who plan to teach U.S. history in their schools. Fellowship recipients will receive all-expense paid trips to Williamsburg, as well as $300 for classroom materials.

NAGC: Passow Classroom Teacher Scholarship
The National Association for Gifted Children annually awards the A. Harry Passow Classroom Teacher Scholarship to teachers of grades K-12 who have shown excellence in teaching gifted students, the ability to meet the needs of gifted students, and commitment to furthering the development of their teaching skills. The scholarship is designed to reimburse/defray the costs of continuing education for up to two eligible teachers currently teaching gifted students in a variety of educational settings ranging from a homogeneous or full-day special class to a heterogeneous classroom. Maximum award: $2,000. Eligibility: teachers K-12 who have been members of NAGC for at least one year. Deadline: April 18, 2011.

NEA Foundation: Learning & Leadership Grants
NEA Learning & Leadership Grants support public school teachers, public education support professionals, and/or faculty and staff in public institutions of higher education for one of two purposes. Grants to individuals fund participation in high-quality professional development experiences such as summer institutes or action research; grants to groups fund collegial study, including study groups, action research, lesson study, or mentoring experiences for faculty or staff new to an assignment. Maximum award: $5,000. Eligibility: public school teachers grades K–12; public school education support professionals; or faculty and staff at public higher education institutions. Deadline: February 1, 2011.

NSTA: New Science Teacher Academy
The NSTA New Science Teacher Academy Foundation is a professional development initiative created to promote quality science teaching, enhance teacher confidence and classroom excellence, and improve teacher content knowledge. Maximum award: program expenses. Eligibility: middle or high school science teachers entering their second or third year of teaching, working a schedule with 51 percent of their classes in science.
Applications for the 2011–2012 Academy will be available in the winter of 2011.

Sol Hirsch Education Fund Grants
Sol Hirsch Education Fund Grants are awarded annual to K-12 teachers to help improve the education of their students, school, and/or community in the science of meteorology. Grants are intended to allow teachers to purchase scientific materials or equipment, start or enhance meteorology or science education programs, or attend accredited courses, workshops, or conferences related to meteorology. The 2010 grant cycle has closed, but a new round of grants will be considered sometime in spring 2011 - keep an eye on the website!

Toyota: International Teacher Program
The Toyota International Teacher Program for Costa Rica Study will send teachers to eastern Costa Rica from November 19 to December 3, 2011 to study the country's environmental and cultural preservation efforts. Maximum award: a fully funded (transportation, lodging, meals, and all program activities) ten-day trip to Costa Rica. Eligibility: U.S. teachers grades 7-12 with at least three years of full-time teaching experience. Deadline: May 4, 2011.
