The Mid-Del Public Schools Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to ensure a bright future for Mid-Del Public School students. For 22 years we have sparked innovation and creativity in teaching, provided award-winning books to school libraries, and in other ways large and small, supported excellence in education.
At the same time our state ranks among the very lowest in spending on public education, and trouble is forecast for the immediate future, Mid-Del has some of the best educators around and many resources for our students. The Mid-Del Public Schools Foundation is committed to providing some of the extras that many have to do without, and also helping with the basics when we're called to.
We rally Mid-Del community support to contribute to great public schools. We invite your involvement! Our three-fold approach:
Enrich kids' learning environment by challenging teachers to be innovative and creative.
Expand educational experiences by helping to fund work outside the basic curriculum.
Support a range of projects that include reading, writing, math, and science, as well as music, art, character building, job preparation, and more.
Reading "rocks" at Del City Elementary! Almost a third of the Foundation's 2010 grants went to support improvements in reading and writing at the elementary level.
